Something isn't right up here. I'm a little fucking spooked to be honest with you. After I got off the computer again I grabbed a lager and headed down to the road to see if I could get a better reception on my cell. Not strange I give you, but it gets fucking weird. So i'm about halfway down the drive when I heard some branches break likes someone is following me along the side of the drive. Naturally I stop short, thinking its a deer or a bear (shut up, it could be a bear). The noises stop when I do so I start to think it's one of my friends screwing with me. I call out their names, "PEAR" (this is totally something Pear would do), nothing, "PETE", nothing. I chalk it up to exhaustion and head on further down the drive. I' checking my cell the whole time and nothing, still no service. None. Nil. Not even one bar, occassionally flashing in and out. I'm thoroughly confused now because on my laptop I have full "strong" connection strength. It's not Wifi either, its an air card.
ok, now it's getting strange. I get down to the road and I still have no signal, I'm wondering up and down the road, nervously because we are on one of many blind bends. I'm pretty sure I'd hear a car coming but just in case. I stop to look at my phone for the time, 5:56 and I hear it again. branches breaking, but htis was different. It was fast and moving away from me.
I am fucking loosing it about now.
I say fick this, someone is fiucking with me and I run back to the house. It's about a quarter mile drive from the road to the house, up hill. I'm booking it though, running full speed. I'm about half way to the house and I hear..... I don;t even know what. It wasn't a shriek, or a scream but they are the closest words I can think of to describ it. It certainly didn't sound human, but neither did it sound animal. I can't describe it. Either way, it stopped me in my tracks. I literally almost shit my pants. I grab the knife from my belt (I know, awfully Grizzley Adams of me0 and creep back to the house.
It gets even stranger:
AS I round the last bend and I can see the cabin, I notice tire tracks next to my car. No car or anything, just tire marks. I can assure you they were not there when I get here becuase you can see where the tires roll over my foot prints. WTF is going on.
So I've run back in here and grabbed the old shot gun from above the bed in the master bedroom. I'm staying here for a little while longer and see if someone lese doesn't show up.
Fuck this

All set up, still waiting
Alright, I'm ready to go. After I got off the computer I took a shower just to get the 5 hours of grime I accumulated on the drive up here. Though it is still cool outside with Spring weather, driving straight through with only stopping once for gas made me considerably nasty. Fresh boxers sure do help.
I've unpacked (took the small loft since I'm flying solo this weekend), unpacked my clothes and emptied the car. The fridge is packed with adult beverages and I had planned on watching the rest of the Phils' game. That doesn't look like it's going to happen. The TV isn't getting a picture. The satellite dish must be fritzing out. I did a quick check and the cables down here seem in order. Either Pete or myself will have to go up on the roof to check out the dish.
Still no cell service either, which is weird because as you can see by this blog, there's aircard service. I'm going head on down to the road in a bit to see if I can get a better reception. I'll call Pete cause he should be here by now, its 4:30. Hell Jill and Aubrey should be here soon too. Jill said they'd be here around 5;30. I hope to god Pete and Susan are alright. There are some pretty twisted roads up here, alot of blind corners.
Anyway.... I'm all set, just waiting for everyone else. Pete, Sara, Jill, Aubrey, Bobby and Pear, get your collective asses up here.
Peace,
~R

Wait, I'm confused.
Is anyone out there? Something very strange is going on. I seem to have internet (aircard) but no cell service. Actually, not all of the internet, just here, this blog. The land line in the cabin isn't working either, dead. No dial tone or anything, just dead. Well, it is the mountains, maybe the topography is fucking with the cell service (though that doesn't explain the interwebs).
Anyway, this is my vacation journal, just starting it. I'm Rufus, Ruffy to my friends. I just got to the cabin and I'm waiting for some friends to come up. Honestly, I expected Peter and Sarah to be here already. It's 3:00 so I guess I just got a better jump than anyone else did. What ever the case, I'll start unpacking.
I'll check back with you later, let you know what is going on.
Peace.
